Moved to California from Chicago when I was 6. Lived there until 2020, then moved to Ventana Ranch, Albuquerque, in December.
Worked for The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles for 23 years as the Director of Networks. Owned a Radio Control Racing Organization. NORRCA for 11 years. Google NORRCA
Worked for the Indian Health Services for two years, with a Confidential Security Clearance.
Retired in February 2023. Tried racing off-road trucks (TRAXXAS Sledge), then drones, and finally started flying RC Airplanes in February of 2025. Lots of learning and several crashes. Met some really great people at Maloof, who were very helpful in helping me build my pilot skills.
Joined the ARCC Board of Directors in August of 2025. I’m making every effort to help the club grow, with my latest contribution being the new home web page that is focused on attracting new members.
Secretary: Garland Oberle
Treasurer: Dave Kvech

Safety Officer: Stan Johnson
I learned to fly R/C at Maloof in 1971. I’ve been a modeler pretty much all my life, I’ve worked in several hobby shops in Albuquerque, and was the owner of Hobbies’ n Stuff. My wife and I opened the store in 1987 and sold it in 2007. I worked on airplanes you can fly in at Cutter Flying Service before opening the hobby shop.
I’m a licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic and got a Light Sport Pilots license after retiring. I’m a genuine certified airplane NUT.

Director 1: Jimmy James
Retired from Peabody Energy Heavy equipment mechanic and welder/ retired as a Volunteer Fire Fighter in 2014, 27 years Service, started flying RC aircraft in 1995, and was into RC cars for several years before

Director 2: Norm Redenshek
1st flew at Maloof in 1985 during my 1st tour at KAFB. Returned again in 1991 for 7 more years of RC flying and finally returned in 2020 after retiring, but continued my aviation career with Lockheed Martin as a HH-60 Special Ops Flight Instructor at the KAFB schoolhouse. I grew up scratch-building scale models from 3-view drawings as a very young kid and worked for 2 model airplane manufacturers in northeastern Ohio area. Flew and competed at many regional and national events like the Nationals, Scalemasters, and Topgun. I really enjoy meeting up with fellow modelers at events to fly and continue to learn more about aviation and the hobby I love.

Director 3: Charles Palmer
I began flying at Maloof in 1996. I enjoy building, and I’m a better builder than I am a pilot. I’m interested in museum-quality, precision-scale modelling, and I’ve competed in regional and national scale meets. These days, my primary interest is in big, easy-to-fly and easy-to-build electric planes. I’ve converted all my planes to electric power.
Susan and I moved to Albuquerque in 1973, where I did my medical residency in Pathology at UNM. After that, I worked as a surgical pathologist in Albuquerque for 28 years. I’ve been retired for quite a while.

Website Developer: Dennis Spanogle
Dennis joined the club a long time ago. He has volunteered to help build a new fully responsive website for the club. This new website will go live in 2025 – hopefully. Dennis and his wife Vicki live near Sedillo east of Albuquerque and have several aircraft but has not been flying since 2022. Hopefully he will become excited about flying again soon. Dennis is a summa cum laude graduate of New Mexico State University with a Masters in electrical engineering and is a retiree of Hewlett Packard where he served as a systems engineer, sales person and district manager. Dennis and Vicki enjoy, among other activities, exploring New Mexico, the Tesla Owners Club of New Mexico road rallies, camping, and four wheeling in their Polaris RZR.
